Japan Canada Student Association (JCSA) at the University of Toronto

How It Works – 詳細

The language exchange takes place from 2:30pm to 5:00pm every Saturday, in the following format:

2:30 – 3:30pm – English hour or Japanese hour
3:30 – 4:00pm – Announcements and break time.
4:00 – 5:00pm – English hour or Japanese hour

Whether we start with the English hour or the Japanese hour first depends on the week. During this time, try to speak as much as possible in that language with your group!

How do you organize groups?

When you come to the JCSA, you are free to choose any table you want to sit. If you aren’t able to find a table on your own, one of our ushers will be happy to escort you to a table. Since this exchange is a drop-in event, we are not able to organize and match groups based on level-but if you have any concerns/requests, please let our ushers know and we’ll help as best as we can.

What are the rules?

We have a page listing our rules and codes of conduct here.
Most of the rules are common sense, like not harassing other people, no soliciting your business etc. However we have one important rule you should know:

Please do not exchange phone numbers, email or Facebook.

To find out why, please click here.
